BTS Group Holdings Plc, which operates the skytrain lines in Bangkok, formed a partnership with PT Jakarta Monorail for joint development of two monorail lines in the Indonesian capital at a cost of US$800 million.
An executive of BTS who asked not to be named said the company was approached by the Indonesian partner, who was granted a concession to operate monorail lines in Jakarta.
"The partnership has been signed. We are sending staff to study the projects in detail," said the executive.
