Pepsi-Cola (Thai) Trading Co, the Thai producer and distributor of Pepsi, is spending 400 million baht to kick off its new campaign and drive its brand and sales growth by connecting with consumers through sports and music.

Called "Pepsi live for now with Manchester United", the campaign is expected to spur football sentiment among Thai fans and provide a sales bump in the second half.

Three young Thai actors _ James Mars, Jirayu La-Ongmanee and Dan Aaron Nathan Ramnarong _ will join Man United players in Pepsi's new regional commercial to be aired in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos and Brunei.

Jagrut Kotecha, the general manager for beverages at Pepsi-Cola (Thai) Trading Co, said sports represent a huge global platform for PepsiCo. Pepsi sees sports, especially football, as a powerful platform to convey its core marketing message, with some 20 million Man United fans in Thailand.
