Fitcorp urges private schemes

Thais' concern about fitness is driving demand for Fitcorp's private health programmes in Thailand.

Working out in groups is key, says Mr Remon.

Private health programmes are designed to take care of your health including fitness or exercise activities and nutrition control.

Thais are increasingly concerned about their health and body improvement, as seen by the proliferation of fitness chains and activities such as yoga, crossfit and outdoor fitness training, said Dan Remon, the chief executive of Fitcorp Asia, a leading private health and fitness company.

"This global trend of health improvement is more exclusive and effective than those seen in the US and Britain," he said.

"Creating a fun community is essential for better health results and body enhancement in less time, which makes exercise a part of your lifestyle."

Fitcorp Asia offers private programmes including Crossfit, Fat Loss, Boot Camp, Golf Fitness.

Crossfit is a popular exercise programme in the US, Europe and Australia that provides strength and conditioning programmes based on constantly changing functional movements performed at high intensity to achieve overall physical fitness.

It takes a recreational activity and makes it competitive, inspiring participants to higher levels of motivation, health and personal development.

Boot Camp is a group training programme Fitcorp designs for all-inclusive fitness vacations to locations such as Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Chang in Thaikland along with Bhutan.

Fitcorp also offers youth fitness and altitude training.

Good health can improve people's confidence in their personal and professional life, said Mr Remon.

"There are a lot of opportunities in the alternative health business with niche target groups," he said.

Fitcorp Asia has franchised its clubs in India and envisions having 30 clubs in that country in 3-5 years.
