Inflation in August rose 1.59% when compared to the same month last year, making it the lowest monthly rate for 45 months.
Vatchari Vimooktayon, permanent secretary of the Commerce Ministry, said the consumer price index in August stood at 105.41 points, or a 1.59% increase year-on-year.
On a month-to-month basis, prices fell by 0.01% from July.
Inflation rose 2.47% during the first eight months of 2013, compared to the same period in 2012.
