The Association of Securities Companies (Asco) meets today to seek measures to control stockbrokers' short-term trading, which has caused market swings in recent weeks.
Chairwoman Pattera Dilokrungthirapop said Asco is considering some measures. An extra fee may be charged for day trading and hedging accounts for derivative warrants.
For fairness, the brokers may also be required to pay a brokerage fee of not less than what institutional clients are paying. They do not have this cost now.
