NESDB: 3.8-4.3% growth for 2013

The National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) projects final gross domestic product growth for 2013 will range between 3.8% and 4.3%, deputy government spokesman Pakdihan Himathongkham said on Tuesday.

The economic growth projection was reported to the cabinet meeting today by the government think-tank, he said.

The NESDB said risk factors that could derail economic expansion in the remaining months of the year were the  floods currently hurting many provinces and the US government shutdown.

The agency forecast average inflation for 2013 between 2.3% and 2.8%, with a total current account deficit of about 2.3% of GDP.
