Thai stocks rose 1.1% on Friday as encouraging growth figures from China further lifted sentiment that had improved after the United States averted a debt default.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand Index closed up 15.63 points from Thursday at 1,484.72, an increase of 1.8% from the previous Friday's close of 1,457.78. Turnover was 38.78 billion baht, with 10.57 billion shares traded.
The local market is up 6.7% from the end of 2012 and down 9.7% from the year-high of 1,643.34 reached in mid-May.
