SPVI Plc, the MAI-listed authorised reseller of Apple products, expects 10-15% revenue growth in 2014 despite last year's revenue likely falling short of the 2.5-billion-baht target as the ongoing political turmoil and economic worries undermined consumption.

Revenue could exceed 2 billion baht in 2013, said managing director Trisorn Volyarngosol.

For the first nine months of 2013, SPVI recorded revenue of 1.7 billion baht for a net profit of 10.4 million.

Mr Trisorn expects the political outlook and the country's economy will improve in the second half, returning domestic consumption to normal levels.

The Thai economy is gasping from swelling household debt as a result of domestic consumption stimulus measures by the Yingluck Shinawatra government, while an export recovery has not gained traction.

Political tensions that emerged in late October also hurt domestic consumption and private investment, raising the odds the country's GDP would dip below 3% growth this year.

Mr Trisorn said the company will focus on smartphone content, especially videoconferencing. V-Cube is an advanced technology allowing users to play presentations and show content via mobile phones anywhere. This technology should facilitate teleconferencing for its target groups: companies and government organisations.

He said the cost of programme installation is cheaper than the regular programme, and V-Cube is faster and more convenient.

The company plans to keep selling Apple products and software to international and secondary schools as well as universities.

SPVI has opened 46 new selling points nationwide over the past two years but plans to relocate 5-8 selling points regarded as inactive this year.

Shares of SPVI shares closed yesterday on the MAI at 95 satang, down eight satang, in trade worth 16.7 million baht.
