The political turmoil pushed the Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) down to its lowest level for 55 months in January, chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Payungsak Chartsuthipol said on Thursday.
The FTI conducted a regular confidence survey of manufacturers in various industrial groups in January.
The index dropped from 88.3 in December 2013 to 86.9 in January, its lowest point since June 2009. The index has now languished below 100 points for 19 consecutive months, showing low overall confidence among manufacturers, the chairman said.
