JAKARTA — Indonesia's economic growth slipped to the lowest level in five years during the second quarter, government statistics said Tuesday.

Gross domestic product grew 5.1% in the second quarter compared with the same period last year, said the Central Bureau of Statistics. It expanded 2.5% compared with the first quarter this year, the agency said.

The transport and communications sectors recorded the highest growth year-on-year at 9.5%, it said.

Southeast Asia's largest economy grew 5.8% in 2013, after having expanded by more than 6% annually since 2010.
