Prayuth welcomes European investors

Foreign investment welcome, visiting businessmen told

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha on Wednesday welcomed European business representatives at army headquarters in Bangkok, and guaranteed support for their investments in Thailand.

Representatives of the Thai-European Business Association took Thai and European businessmen to the meeting with Gen Prayuth, also chief of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

They discussed the process of economic reform in Thailand and trade and investment facilitation. Also present at the meeting were ACM Prajin Jantong, hed of the NCPO's economic team, and Gen Chatchai Sarikalya, his deputy.

It was the first business delegation to meet Gen Prayuth since he received the royal command for his appointment as prime minister on Monday.

During the meeting Gen Prayuth told the visiting businessmen the NCPO welcomed them wholeheartedly.

He said the NCPO was well aware that businesspeople were focused on investment, were looking forward to sustainable solutions in the country and did not want to get involved in politics here.

The NCPO shared this opinion, Gen Prayuth said.
