IRPC in cooperation with Picnic Plast launched a Natural Color Compound for creating food packaging that is environmentally friendly, safe, heat-resistant and fade-resistant which is the first of its kind in Thailand. The company is ready to expand the product for use in other plastics products and distribution worldwide.
With a sharp focus on research and development, the specialty products are environmentally friendly and consistent with customer needs and megatrends while also adding value. The latest achievements are in product development research and the creation of Natural Color Compound for the first time in Thailand.
Natural Color is another milestone for IRPC’s successful research and development efforts that have yielded innovative products that are environmentally friendly, meet consumer needs and world demand, in partnership with Picnic Plast Industrial Co., Ltd. which has similar goals of adding value to products that are friendly to the environment and consistent with sustainable business practices. The Natural Color for food packaging product is called “clippac organic”. It will be available in leading department stores and exported to European countries, including the UK and France, among others.
Natural Color Compound comprises polymers arising from a combination of older natural colour polymers that use synthetic dyes without changing their physical properties. The natural colours can be used as primary extracts. They come in three colours: green from spinach; red from shellac, tomato or strawberry; and orange-yellow from turmeric, paprika or carrots. They are thus alternatives for consumers who care about health and safety both in Thailand and all over the world. In terms of exports, the products have passed international quality control (Food Grade) standards for mixing with polypropylene (PP) Homo Polymer and Random Co-polymer. There are also plans to develop other polymers such as ABS HIPS.
Natural Color is part of the “GRENOVO” group of environmentally friendly polymer products. The formula was developed from natural raw material used in polymer production. Green ABS was developed previously. It comprises polymers derived from natural rubber to replace synthetic rubber and Wood Plastic Composite. Besides its application in food packaging, it can also be used in furniture production.
