ECB leaves interest rate unchanged

FRANKFURT — The European Central Bank (ECB) left its key interest rate at a record-low 0.05% at its policy meeting Thursday amid worries about slower growth and deflation in the eurozone.

The decision came after data showed the region's gross domestic product grew only 0.2% in the July-September quarter from the previous term and the year-on-year inflation rate stood at 0.3% in November, staying below 1% for the 14th consecutive month.

The inflation rate remains far below the ECB's target of just under 2%.
