A record price of 1.9 million baht per square wah has been paid for just over 3-rai of land on Chidlom Road in Bangkok by listed developer SC Asset Corporation Plc.

Nukarn Suwatikul, director for investment services at consultancy firm Colliers International Thailand, said the block of land totalled 1,209 square wah (three rai and nine wah) and was acquired for 2.3 billion baht.

The company brokered the sale for a family. The land is opposite the side entrance of Central Chidlom department store. It is about 200 metres from the BTS Chidlom station.

It is the highest price on record ever paid for land in Thailand.

One rai is 1600 square metres. The total area is 4,836 square metres.
