Haier Thailand Group, producer of Haier electrical appliances, is confident of achieving 2.3 billion baht sales by the end of this year after growing almost 15% in the first half.
Haier's production facility is located in Prachin Buri's Kabin Buri district. The Chinese electrical appliance maker expects this year's sales target to reach 2.3 billion baht, a 20% increase from 1.9 billion baht in 2014.
President Yang Xiaolin said Haier had established a strong brand and also developed its products to win Thai consumers' hearts for 13 years.
During the first half, sales in Thailand enjoyed a 14.7% growth or 1.27 billion baht amid the sluggish economy. With the hot summer season, sales of air conditioners saw very high growth of 110% in both consumer and commercial markets.
"The second half will see a new line of home appliances to respond to trends in Thailand and the global market. This year's sales target is expected to reach 2.3 billion baht or a 20% increase from 1.9 billion baht in 2014," he said.
Competition in Thailand's electrical appliance market is high. The market continued to expand in the first half despite the economic slowdown.
However, Thailand is strategically important to the Chinese electrical appliance maker. This is the main reason behind the establishment of a regional air-conditioning training centre in Prachin Buri's Kabin Buri district, to provide training services for all Asean countries.
Haier is considered the world's largest manufacturer of home appliances based on its leading market share for six consecutive years.
This year, Haier Thailand, which marks its 13th anniversary, will see a new business model, innovations and lines of home appliances. The company believes the Thai market still has plenty of room to grow.
New models include the two-door Dynamic Inverter refrigerator that can reduce energy consumption by 39% and provide more cooling power. Equipped with an LED tower for a bright inside light, the refrigerator comes in four colours and four sizes.
