Mono Technology Plc, an SET-listed media and entertainment company, projects revenue growth of 50% to 3 billion baht this year on the back of digital TV.

The company also expects T Moment, a film studio joint venture with Tai Entertainment Co, will become fully operational and support its digital TV business.

Half the projected revenue will come from digital TV operations, 40% from the internet and mobile business and 10% from films, music and radio, chief marketing officer Navamin Prasopnet said.

"Our digital TV business will be the main revenue driver this year, with the focus on enhancing content for our Mono 29 channel," he said.

Mono hopes its new content line-up will strengthen the channel positioning and draw more viewers and advertisers.

The company has received exclusive rights to films from both Thai and international studios including Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, NBC Universal, Sahamongkolfilm International, Phranakorn Film and Major Film.

Films from these studios will be aired during prime time, Mr Navamin said.

He said the film studio, T Moment, was officially launched last month and would support the digital TV business, particularly in terms of self-produced content.

"I believe our TV business will reach the break-even point this year, as we expect ad revenue growth of 100-200%, given the channel's good TV ratings," Mr Navamin said.

Ad airtime on the Mono 29 channel runs about 50,000 baht a minute during prime time, up from 20,000 baht a minute last year.

Nielsen Co (Thailand) ranks the Mono 29 channel fifth among 27 free TV channels, after Workpoint TV and RS Plc's Channel 8 at third and fourth, respectively.

Last year, Mono generated 600 million baht from digital TV, rising to an estimated 1.5 billion this year.

Its new digital TV studio in the Ratchaphruek-Chaeng Watthana area will be completed late this year, while the T Moment film studio venture is projected to generate hundreds of millions of baht in revenue annually.

In 2015, Mono achieved revenue of 1.41 billion baht for a net profit of 358 million. Full-year revenue is estimated at 2 billion baht.

MONO shares closed yesterday on the SET at 1.99 baht, unchanged, in trade worth 2.41 million baht.
