Muang Thai GMM Live House, a concert hall operated by SET-listed GMM Grammy Plc, expects revenue to surpass an earlier target by 10%, thanks to full booking of concerts and events in the first half of this year.

Krij Thomas, Grammy's chief operating officer, predicts more concerts and events in the second half as 80% of slots on the calendar have been reserved so far.

There will be an increasing number of international concerts and events shown at Muang Thai GMM Live House, which is located at CentralWorld shopping complex in the Ratchaprasong area.

The hall staged seven international shows in 2015, and the number will rise to 10 this year.

The line-up of international shows in 2016 includes Axtone Stage Exclusive Live in Bangkok, a DJ music festival; the World Scholar's Cup 2016, an international high-school debating competition; "The Smurfs Live on Stage"; the HonTour World Finals 2016, an online gaming tournament; and League of Legends Thailand Fourth Anniversary, celebrating the multiplayer online game.

Known as the concert venue of choice in the downtown area, the operator of Muang Thai GMM Live House said its proper area is the key strength drawing event organisers because each hall can accommodate 2,000-4,000 people.

Apart from outside events, Grammy also uses the hall to stage concerts for its artists.

Mr Krij said the event line-up from January to June includes The Star 12 singing competition, the Genie Records Rock Village concert, the gCircuit EDM show, Korean pop star Joo Won's meet- and-greet event and Spanish pop group Dvicio.

"We're confident that our space will be sold out soon for the whole year," he said.

GMM Grammy posted a net loss of 1.14 billion baht on revenue totalling 9.7 billion in 2015.

GRAMMY shares closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 8.80 baht, up 20 satang, in trade worth 870,000 baht.
