Relaunch due for Siam Discovery

Siam Piwat Co is ready to relaunch its Siam Discovery shopping centre on May 28 after a year of renovation work.

It will reopen its doors with 40,000 square metres of retail space. Some 300 million baht will be spent on the grand opening event.

Charnchai Cherdchuwongthanakorn, Siam Piwat's senior executive vice-president for retail business development, said the new Siam Discovery would be Thailand's biggest lifestyle experience, complementing nearby Siam Center and Siam Paragon.

The eight-storey Siam Discovery will offer more than 5,000 international and local brands in every price range.

Siam Piwat expects 100,000 visitors a day at Siam Discovery, up from 70,000 before. About 65% of visitors will be Thais and 35% foreigners.

Among the featured anchors is Object of Desire Store (ODS) and its home decor products.

Loft, the popular Japanese store, will unveil a new design concept and offer a wide range of products, with more than 80% imported from Japan.

The Nike concept store will provide a full line of products and personalised embroidery services.

Issey Miyake will open its first concept store outside Japan, called World of Issey Miyake, offering a full line of products including Miyake for men for the first time in Thailand.

Comme des Garcons will open its flagship store in Thailand, while Hackett, a men's fashion brand from England, will have its first concept store in Thailand.

Cazh will offer a collection of casual and street-style fashion products.

Brands debuting in Thailand are Yoshio Kubo, Factotum, Beautiful People, Dressed Undressed and Discord by Yoji Yamamoto.

Billboard Cafe will offer an unprecedented experience in a space designed for music lovers.

"Siam Discovery is different from other retail operators in terms of the way of selling products, presenting them as part of a storytelling narrative that is engaging and interesting," said Mayuree Chaipromprasith, senior executive vice-president for business promotion at Siam Piwat.
