Malls forecast upbeat H2, plan massive expansion

Easing political tension following the court ruling on the charter amendment bill, coupled with a rapid economic recovery from the floods, has restored the confidence of major retailers, leading them to speed up their expansion in the latter half of this year.

Chamnarn Maytaprechakul, senior chief marketing officer of The Mall Group, said the company will move aggressively in the second half by allocating 600-700 million baht for marketing activities to push sales growth to 10%, above its 8% projection.

"Competition is growing more intense with added players near our locations," he said.
