    It baffles me how the many dozens of high-end shops, not only at Gaysorn but Emporium and Siam Paragon, survive. I rarely see any customers in any of the stores. Perhaps their profit margin is so huge they need only a couple of customers a week to make money.

    If there is one thing that Bangkok has no shortage of, it is new shopping options. And the desire to have a "world class" shopping district would seem at odds with Thailand's decidedly non world-class status as an economy. Being "world class" as a nation should start with infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, education and talent. Only poor Thailand would miss the forest for the trees like this and lunge for more premium retail. LOL. There are many ways to better ones country through development. Providing more retail options for expensive handbags clearly isn't one if them,
