Two more Ikeas for Bangkok

Ikea, the Swedish home furnishing store chain, will open two more stores in Greater Bangkok by 2017 in an alliance with SF Development Co.

Lacia Sherlock, the store manager of Ikea at Megabangna, relaxes on a sofa, one of many unique designs for sale. Strong customer response has prompted Ikea to plan two more stores.

Its first one in Thailand opened at Megabangna shopping centre just over a year ago to what the company said has been an overwhelming response.

Megabangna - during the week this place is a desert. In a year or so you will see several retailers close up except those of hi so's with their deep pockets who open stores there simply to impress other hi so's. Perhaps in 5 years it may improve once access is better. D1: no trees left in Thailand - Thais have invaded Burma to get more.

In Thailand's hot&humid environment, cheap IKEA furniture lasts two years,
Traditional hard wood furniture last 200 years.

I am think it is the very good news for Thailand because it change people to use cheap furniture, and is better than big real wood furniture that expensive and kill the tree.
