Supermarkets pull trigger on hamper campaigns

Competition among New Year hamper providers is heating up with the launch of aggressive campaigns by two major supermarket chains to draw customers to spend at their stores amid the economic downturn. 

Nick Reitmeier, vice-president for international food and wine at Central Food Retail, shows off the company’s hamper offerings.

The Mall Group's Home Fresh Mart is set to spend about 15 million baht on its hamper promotion, while Central Food Retail (CFR) will allocate 80 million baht to drive its festive basket sales.
