True Fitness aims for speedy growth

A Singapore-based fitness chain plans to open as many as 10 new clubs in Thailand by 2015 as part of an Asia-wide expansion costing an estimated 15 billion baht.

True Group is pursuing an opportunity in a market where one of the largest local players, California WOW Xperience (CAWOW), has been struggling financially. CAWOW operates 10 clubs now but some industry players believe it may close some branches as it attempts to rehabilitate the business.

UK-based Fitness First is the local market leader with 18 locations.
