BlackBerry maker devises provincial proliferation

Research In Motion, the maker of BlackBerry smartphones, is gearing up its growth strategy by opening local representative offices in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
The move is meant to cash in on the proliferation of smartphones in the region, said Nicholas Horton, Research In Motion's vice-president for Indochina.
Thailand represents RIM's second-largest market in Southeast Asia, behind Indonesia.
