AIS doubles 3G capacity to 2m users

In an effort to alleviate mobile data traffic congestion, Advanced Info Service (AIS) is allocating more money this year to double its 3G network capacity to accommodate up to 2 million users.
The move is in anticipation of increased traffic and to prevent possible network failure, said Prattana Leelapanang, vice-president for wireless business marketing at AIS.
"The additional investment is crucial since there is no guarantee the planned 3G licence auction will happen by mid-year as scheduled," he said.
