The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Ministry raised the median price for tablets under the One Tablet per Child scheme to 3,100 baht.
The adjustment will cut the purchasing capacity of the Thai government from its initial estimate of 860,000 tablets using a 1.9-billion-baht budget to 560,000 units, said ICT Minister Anudith Nakornthap.
Gp Capt Anudith said a discussion between the Thai and Chinese governments on the tablet project is expected to be finalised by the end of this month.
