MCOT chief steps down following conflicts

Chakraphan Yomchinda, the acting president of MCOT Plc, tendered his resignation letter to the board yesterday following conflicts with chairman Sorajak Kasemsuvan.

He received political pressure from the ruling Pheu Thai party as well as MCOT staff after a delay of the station's programme restructuring, which is scheduled to take place in early July.

He stated in his letter his resignation would pave the way for the MCOT board to find a skilful person for the position. He is still a member of the board.
