3G reserve price may be set at B4.2bn

The reserve price for the third-generation (3G) licence auction will be finalised today by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC).

The benchmark is likely to be set at 4.2 billion baht for each of the nine five-megehertz slots, on par with the price set by the NBTC's predecessor of 12.8 billion baht for 15MHz.

Currently, the NBTC's 2100-megahertz committee approved the draft 3G licence auction framework for the international standard 2.1-GHz spectrum.
