NBTC: Slot positions to intensify competition in 3G auction

Competition in bidding for the third-generation (3G) wireless licences next month will be healthy thanks to the different positions of frequency slots, according to the telecommunication regulator. 

The highest bids will get priority on choosing which frequency slots they prefer.

Earlier, the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) expressed concern the revised draft auction terms, which allow each bidder to buy a maximum of 15MHz, down from 20MHz in the original draft, may stifle competition.
