Critics of 3G submit new petitions to Ombudsman

Critics of the 3G bandwidth auction have filed new petitions attempting to suspend the award of licences to the three telecom firm bid winners.

The moves by the Group of 40 Senators and the Green Politics Group came despite the Administrative Court's decision to clear the way for the national frequency regulator to proceed with licensing.

Senator Paiboon Nititawan petitioned the Office of the Ombudsman yesterday on behalf of the Group of 40. The group is asking the Ombudsman to request a Constitution Court ruling on whether the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission's (NBTC) telecom committee is authorised to endorse the results of the 3G licence auction.

May I URGE the judiciary to thoroughly investigate the private and business connections and conflicts of interests of ALL those who keep trying to delay, frustrate, the execution of the auction. This 3G story stinks beyond decay.

Little harmony in Thai politics, Thai businesses exist for profit not service (3G) and people still honestly think Thailand will be able to compromise finding a fair and middle path with ASEAN AEC members? I doubt it will ever take place.

The rest of the world is going to G5. Give it up already!!!

Wow, if this is any indication of how well the Thai business world will interrelate with the ASEAN AEC community, watch out! Walk the "middle path"?, compromise? share the benefits? What's that?!

It doesn't matter what the subject is you always have a group of people who are against anything this government does and will stop at nothing using the courts to disrupt any progress.
