Samart forecasts 50% profit growth this year

Samart Corporation is upbeat on its long-term growth prospects with an ambitious revenue target of 30 billion baht this year, thanks to the transition period for telecommunications technologies.

The country's leading equipment maker projects its consolidated revenue will surge by 65% this year, with more than 50% growth in net profit.

Samart announced plans to invest 1 billion baht in the digital television business this year with the aim of becoming a network provider for digital TV channels. The company plans to introduce its own set-top boxes for broadcasting digital TV, priced at 1,000 baht a unit or 2,000 baht for an Android-based set-top box.
