MCOT teams up with Korean IT company

MCOT Plc, the operator of Modernine TV, has teamed up with Intellicode Thai, the Thai operating unit of the South Korean IT solutions firm, in a bid to strengthen its media content and boost new revenue stream.

MCOT president Anek Permvongseni said the alliance is part of the state television channel's strategy of focusing on its new media business with the aim of generating 400 million baht in revenue this year.

Intellicode Thai is a joint venture between Korea Telecom, Softbank and Alticast Co. The company is a pioneer in the broadcasting technology sector holding a variety of copyrighted content.
