MCOT Plc, the operator of Modernine TV, aims to build a media complex and wants to finalise design and road access plans this year.
The state broadcaster wants the complex to be a centre for the Thai TV industry as it believes Thailand will have a big role in the region, particularly for news agencies and production houses, said MCOT president Anek Permvognseni.
The complex is expected to serve demand from foreign news agencies and other media producers during the digital TV transition and the formation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2016. It will also support new players such as content providers and production houses.
