The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has revised the channel structure in each digital TV category to attract new players.
The regulator plans to issue 24 digital licences in August or September this year. Of the total, three will be for children's channels, seven each for news and variety shows in standard definition (SD) and seven for variety shows in high definition (HD).
Previously, five channels each were to be set aside for children and news, 10 for variety in SD and four for variety in HD.
