Agilent Technologies Inc, the world's leading electronic measurement instrument maker, is shifting its focus to Southeast Asia to capitalise on growing opportunities in life sciences.

"Thailand is one of our strategic growth countries thanks to its high potential in medical tourism, the food industry and academic research," said Nicolas Roelofs, president for the life science group of Agilent.

Agilent provides diagnostics and genomics devices as well as clinical instruments, enabling doctors to detect diseases earlier such as cancer tissue or chromosome abnormality, which allows faster treatment.
