BEC uneasy about digital transition, licence fees

BEC World Plc, the operator of Channel 3, will broadcast its existing content in analogue until its concession with MCOT Plc ends in 2020. 

Channel 3 will not migrate existing content to be broadcast digitally, as that would incur conversion costs. As well, the transition will take time for all technical problems to be sorted out.

Executive vice-president Surin Krittayaphongphun said the end of its analogue broadcast will take time, as the company is not confident that digital TV will be strong initially.
