Telecom bodies call for convergence

Telecommunication regulators in Asia-Pacific are urging strengthening regional collaboration to come up with more effective rules and regulations to cope with rapid changes in applications development and services in line with the fast pace of technology, said a panel of convergence of regulations at ITU Telecom World in Bangkok. 

A Canadian robot is one innovation on display at the ITU Telecom World in Bangkok, which is demonstrating more natural movements on a visitor’s face.

Currently, most ICT markets across the globe are facing the same challenges in terms of the advanced development of applications and services outpacing rules and regulations, Suthiphon Taweechaiyagarn, commissioner of National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) said at a panel yesterday.
