Loxley inks deals worth over B1bn

The telecommunications firm Loxley Plc will install digital-TV network equipment valued at more than 1 billion baht for the Army-run, free Channel 5.

Chalermchoke: MCOT bid in pipeline

The company recently signed two digital-TV network and studio equipment contracts with Channel 5 valued at 1 billion baht.

The value of digital-TV network equipment installation comprises nearly half of the budget.

This will result in Loxley accounting for over 60% of the market share of the total market for network installations.

Lt Chalermchoke Lamsam, senior executive vice-president of Loxley, revealed that it inked two digital-TV network equipment (MUX) contracts worth more than 500 million baht with the Royal Thai Army.

Loxley quoted 40% lower than Channel 5’s total budget of 840 million baht, almost half the stated budget.

Meanwhile, the company also won bids for the installation of high-definition (HD) digital-TV studio equipment for Channel 5’s new buildings, worth more than 580 million baht as a preparation for the upcoming digital-TV broadcasts.

The two projects have a combined value of more than 1 billion baht.

In addition, Loxley is also collaborating with other agencies, notably on the trial of digital-TV broadcasts with Channel 5 to match the international standards of media broadcast.

It is also cooperating with the Public Relations Department for signal trials for Bangkok and Phuket starting tomorrow.

All of these deals will assure Loxley achieves a 60% market share for all digital-TV network equipment installations.

“The success in offering products with international standard at reasonable prices for Channel 5 has encouraged us to bid for the installation of equipment for digital-TV network for the Public Relations Department and MCOT, both of which are going to be held soon,” Lt Chalermchoke said.
