The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects its campaign promoting women's travel to generate August tourism revenue of 217.7 billion baht, up 11.8% year-on-year.

The TAT is working closely with other state agencies to promote travel among women in connection with the 84th birthday of Her Majesty the Queen.

Key tourism activities under the "Women's Journey Thailand" campaign, which kicks off Aug 1, include the Lady Golf Challenge, Lady Celebrities to Thailand and the 84 Perspectives of Thailand.

In addition, the Royal Development Project will celebrate the 70th anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne. The TAT has launched a campaign highlighting 70 Royal Development Project sites.

Tourism officials are confident that women will travel more because they have increasing income and independence. The TAT has also reached out to social media and bloggers.

"Popular bloggers have influence on tourist decisions when planning their trips, especially the youth and white-collar markets," said Sugree Sithivanich, the TAT's deputy governor for marketing communications.

To reach the target groups of Gen Y and Gen Z, TAT campaigns will use social media and bloggers as well as traditional marketing.

The TAT has invited 84 popular bloggers and influencers worldwide to visit the 70 Royal Development Project sites. Each blogger has at least 800,000 followers.
