KHON KAEN -- Chalita "Namtan" Suansane, Miss Universe Thailand 2016, led other Asean beauty queens to unveil Thai AirAsia's bold new aircraft livery - a silk cloth pattern, part of the Tourism Authority of Thailand's 2017 promotion.

The other beauties at the ceremony in Thai silk dresses were Miss Myanmar World 2016, Myat Thiri Lwin, Miss Laos 2016, Boutsaba Sengpan, and Miss International Thailand 2016, Patariya Pongthai.

The ceremony at Khon Kaen airport was attended by Chatthan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT deputy governor for marketing communications, Pongsak Preechawit, the Khon Kaen governor, Banyat Hansakul, Head of Engineering at Thai AirAsia Co, Athaya Larpmak, director of Khon Kaen airport, and Kemchart Somjaiwong, chairman of the Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce.

Spectators gathered at the airport to witness the unveiling of the aircraft, painted in a Thai silk cloth pattern with the words "Amazing Thailand" printed on it.

Mr Chatthan said the pattern emerged from a contest for a design to reflect Thainess and the Thai way of life.  It was hoped the pattern and the slogan would generate interest in "Amazing Thailand".

This Thai AirAsia aircraft will fly both on domestic and international routes.
