SURAT THANI - The body of British tourist Jason Robert Parnell who went missing after a boat accident near Koh Samui on Thursday was found on Sunday morning, according to media reports.

Pol Lt Col Akrawas Seethanaboon-ubon, a Koh Samu marine police officer, said the body was found stuck in a rock crevice near where the speed boat that he and other tourists were travelling in capsized.

The speed boat, Ang Thong Discovery 3, with four crew members and 32 Thai and foreign tourists on board overturned in Laem Kai in front of Koh Samui's Laem Yai mountain on Thursday about 5pm.

Three foreign tourists died and four others were injured. Parnell, the British tourist, went missing.  A rescue centre was immediately set up to look for him.

The discovery of Parnell's body brought the number of dead foreign tourists to four.

Pol Lt Col Akrawas said the body was brought ashore for post-mortem examination.

He said the British embassy had contacted the man's family.
