It is already bad that the bombings could affect the tourist numbers coming to Thailand and the Government and agency should do all they can to stop this.

On the other hand, you would have read report that the Government is now going all out to track all tourists visiting Thailand in order to know where the tourists go and where they are. Tourists particulars will be sent to all embassy and God knows where they are being used. This is another way to tell tourists that they are not welcome here as the people in charge want to bring down the tourists numbers by enforcing the rules of tracking all tourists. What a silly rule.

I keep seeing comments saying that Vietnam is an attractive destination. My experience is that the hotels are outrageously expensive,(I spent US$420/night ) the food is not as good as Thailand, the market vendors are much more aggressive than in Thailand, there are zillions of motorbikes and no traffic rules, shopping is a pale shadow of what can be found in Bangkok. Don't even get me started on the surly local officials such as Immigration, who make the Thai Immigration staff look positively welcoming. I only go there when I really have to and I certainly would not put it on my list of desirable destinations. As for Cambodia, the people scare the hell out of me. Not a place to wander at night. Malaysia: no alcohol, no thanks!

I think the government needs to do more to boost tourism, neighboring countries are benefiting from these happenings here.

Discussion 1: Get real, statistically this bombing is meaningless and insignificant in terms of the overall safety of Bangkok or Thailand as a whole. The TAT is perfectly rational in still urging people to visit here. No educated person who understands reality and statistics will be dissuaded visiting here.

Anyone could have predicted this bomb or no bomb. It is pretty farcical and in the same breadth the Thai government(s) have created this whole scenario all by themselves, but as usual which is very unfortunate the Thai people will suffer.

The greatest setback for tourism and for Thailand was the 2006 military coup that tore up the people's constitution and brought back the evolution of democracy twenty years or more.

Discussion #3 - And you have actual proof that "the fugitive" is responsible for the bomb? If so, please hurry down to the police station and tell them.

While "the fugitive" may be responsible for a lot of things, Thailand's problems started long before he ever came along, and look to continue long after he is gone.
