Tourists still going to Wang Nam Khieo

The roadblock protest by people disgruntled with the forced eviction and demolition of resorts illegally built in Thap Lan national park in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Wang Nam Khieo district is having no affect on legal operators, the local tourism association reported on Wednesday.

About 400 legal hotels and resorts in the district were totally booked out from this month until the end of next month, the high season, Pongthep Malachasing, president of the Wang Nam Khieo tourism association said.

Most of the visitors to Wang Nam Khieo, only about three hours by car from Bangkok, were people living in the capital and nearby central provinces, he said.
