Asian airports to lead spending spree

Global airports are expected to incur more than US$134 billion in capital expenditure between 2013 and 2016, with most of the money being spent in the smaller airports with annual capacity of 5-15 million passenger, according to annual survey released by Airports Council International last week.
The Airport Economics Survey 2011 also says that Asia-Pacific airports would produce the highest capex growth rates during this period.
Airports went through a bad period in 2010 but were expected to have recovered in 2011, said the report.
