TCEB targets 6% Oceania growth

Thailand is projected to attract more of Oceania's meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (Mice) business, with the local sector projected to grow by 6% this year.

Phuket will be promoted as a high-end Mice destination for this market, said Akapol Sorasuchart, president of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).

During the past year, the Thai Mice industry has been affected by the European crisis, the US economic slowdown and heavy floods, cutting Mice visitors from Europe and the US.
