Yingluck reaffirms plan to boost capacity at city's airports

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has reaffirmed the government's intention to expand Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports to cope with growing tourism.

Transport Minister Jarupong Ruangsuwan said the premier has highlighted the need to expand the country's two main airports to handle the growing number of tourists arriving in Bangkok.

In a show of moral support for airport staff, Ms Yingluck visited Don Mueang airport yesterday after it was re-opened for full commercial operations. She said the airport's re-opening demonstrated the government's commitment to its dual-airport policy.

For all the tourists arriving at the newly re-opened Dun Mueng Airport a free 25 kg bag of Thai rice as a welcoming gift might be encouragement. Or Not! Rinse before using.
