Sharing travel experiences and opinions on online media influences tourists when they plan a trip and book hotels and airline tickets. Hoteliers, airlines and restaurants can't ignore reviews, comments and feedback about them on the world's biggest travel websites like TripAdvisor.
Currently, TripAdvisor features more than 75 million travel reviews and opinions, up from 50 million a year ago. Its community has grown to 32 million worldwide, up from 20 million last year, and 50 contributions are posted on the website every minute.
Some 60 million visitors now use TripAdvisor every month, making it the largest travel site in the world with listings of over 610,000 hotels, 880,000 restaurants and 200,000 attractions as of July 31, according to comScore Media, the media survey company.
