Department gets extra B1bn to entice visitors

The Tourism Department's 2013 budget will rise to 2.7 billion baht from 1.7 billion this year as it seeks to attract more visitors to Thailand's attractions. 

It also plans to seek a budget of 4.3 billion baht to continue its projects in the 2014 fiscal year.

The tourism site development plan for 2012-14, which will require a budget of 8 billion baht, will focus on eight clusters covering 61 provinces.
