"The president has no plans to go to Bangkok," said a senior government official, who would not be named.

Thein Sein had been scheduled to make a speech about Myanmar's future at the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia which will be held in Bangkok on Thursday and Friday.

Why does Suu Kyi holds allegiance to the British crown?

Careful now Thailand! Thein Sein holds allegiance to himself first and second to the Myanmar people, Suu Kyi holds allegiance to herself first and second to the British crown. So be careful who you chose for your own future.

Simple protocol misstep ? Honor the man who take bold step and risk to get the release of Mrs Suu Kyi.

This is an Economic Forum, not a summit of regional or world leaders. All kinds of people attend these things. It's a pity that Thein Sein has overreacted to Suu Kyi's invitation.

"As the leader of a party, why should they invite her?" NLD spokesman Nyan Win said."

    That's easy: For International credibility.

"It [Myanmar] is now led by the Union Solidarity and Development Party, which is packed with ex-military men."

Lesson to be learned for Thailand?
