East Asia should brace for shocks

Building a resilient economy and closer concrete cooperation between East Asian nations will help to cope with the European crisis as it affects the regional economy.

Idris Jala, the prime minister's office minister of Malaysia, said East Asia needs to build a strong interconnected economy to cope with external shocks.

The Malaysian government has selected 6-10 sectors to focus on has devoted resources to this scheme.
